On January 5th over 130 scouts and parents assembled at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson to pull the invasive plant, “privet hedge,” from the area surrounding Turkey Creek.

Most of our workforce had never been there and were totally amazed at the beauty of this park, especially the waterfall and the swimming hole below it. By the end of the day we had accumulated 450 service hours and just about all the privet along the creek for a quarter mile had been pulled and ground up in our chipper.
