Introduction to
OUTDOOR LEADER SKILLS

The Greater Alabama Council and the Vulcan District invite you to participate in Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS), a fun‐filled program of hands‐on training presented in an outdoor setting for current or future Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. IOLS is designed to introduce to participants the basic camping and Scouting skills required for a boy to become a First Class Scout.

IOLS will provide to participants a better understanding of the Scouting program and will enable participants to be more effective adult leaders for their Troops.

IOLS along with Youth Protection Training (YPT) and Scoutmaster Position Specific Training (SPST) are the three required components to become a “Trained” Assistant Scoutmaster / Scoutmaster.

What does the course cost?

The fee is $10.00 to cover administrative costs. You will also be working with your assigned patrol to provide your meals for the course.
